What is the psychosocial wellbeing of children? How can we improve that?
The starting point of the project is the analysis of 5-year old children in the Netherlands, Croatia, Hungary, Norway and Latvia. With the UPSI-5, the Universal Psychosocial Indicator for 5-year-old boys and girls we look into the psychosocial wellbeing of children, and more specifically of children living in more vulnerable contexts.
After this analysis phase, every country selected ECEC provision for the professional support trajectory, coached by VBJK. The main focus here was team reflection, starting from the Wanda-method (developped by VBJK and Artevelde University College), that was adapted to this project. This resulted in a training of trainers, developed and supported by VBJK.
New Wanda in different European countries
This training lead to a Wanda trajectory in a given ECEC setting in the different countries. VBJK supervised this trajectory of continued professional development. In doing so we kept the focus clear on the main goal: how to support professionals in their reflecting on the psychosocial wellbeing of children and on improving the practice?
After the experience with WANDA in the countries involved, the SEED partners wrote specific guidelines concerning the success points and challenges of the whole path. Here you can find the full guidelines and a summary of them.
