SEED | Reflecting on psychosocial wellbeing in ECEC through Wanda

What is the psychosocial wellbeing of children? How can we improve that?

UPSI-5

The starting point of the project is the analysis of 5-year old children in the Netherlands, Croatia, Hungary, Norway and Latvia. With the UPSI-5, the Universal Psychosocial Indicator for 5-year-old boys and girls we look into the psychosocial wellbeing of children, and more specifically of children living in more vulnerable contexts.

The WANDA-path

After this analysis phase, every country will select ECEC provision for the professional support trajectory, coached by VBJK. The main focus here is team reflection, starting from the Wanda-method (developped by VBJK and Artevelde University College), that will be adapted to this project. This will also result in a training of trainers, developed and supported by VBJK.

New Wanda in different European countries

This training will lead to a Wanda trajectory in a given ECEC setting in the different countries. VBJK will supervise this trajectory of continued professional development. In doing so we keep the focus clear on the main goal: how to support professionals in their reflecting on the psychosocial wellbeing of children and on improving the practice?
