Transatlantic Forum on Inclusive Early Years (TFIEY)

Basic services for young children are internationally covered by the term ECEC: Early Childhood Education and Care. Within this area, several practices and research results are worth discussing.

Urgent challenges

The Transatlantic Forum collects and discusses current issues in ECEC with a focus on children in the context of migration and/or poverty.

Input from research and practice provide a good starting point for discussion among policymakers, researchers and practitioners on the most urgent challenges on quality and inclusion.

Forum content

Together with MPI, the US Migration Policy Institute, VBJK is in charge of defining the content and programme for several international conferences. MPI and VBJK also look for the most inspiring speakers in research practice and policymaking on different levels (regional, national and European).

Both the preliminary preparation and the reporting afterwards is being taken care of by MPI and VBJK.

7 conferences, 6 themes

Every conference focuses on a relevant theme for children and families in the context of poverty and/or migration. With every conference you can find a synthesis as well as all presentations and a short video report.

TFIEY brochure

The main conclusions and recommendations, aimed at ECEC for families in the context of poverty and/or migration, were collected in a brochure.
